The Estate
Château Bellefont-Belcier narrates a captivating story rooted in passion and heritage. Acquired in 1889 by the Faure family, this Bordeaux estate has evolved into a celebrated vinicultural landmark, driven by continual innovation and meticulous craftsmanship. In 1994, the estate was taken over by BJL & Partenaires, infusing it with fresh energy while diligently preserving its unique terroirs. In 2017, the vineyard became part of Vignobles K, under the leadership of Hong Kong entrepreneur Peter Kwok, ensuring its ongoing pursuit of excellence.
The Vineyard
First, situated on a 13.5-hectare slope of clay and limestone soils, the vineyard benefits from the distinctive Fronsadais molasse terrain.
Then, this exceptional terroir contributes profoundly to the character of this Grand Cru Classé of Saint-Émilion. Indeed it impartes complexity and elegance to its wines.
Grape Variety: 70% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon
Maturing : Precision is at the heart of the winemaking process. Frist, it begins with a careful, selective harvest followed by immediate cooling to preserve fruit integrity.
Then, each parcel is vinified separately in temperature-controlled concrete and wooden vats, promoting gentle extraction of aromatic compounds. Moreover, the wine then matures in a combination of 40% new barrels and 30% used barrels—previously filled with one or two wine. Consequently it adds structure, depth, and finesse characteristic of the finest Saint-Émilion wines.
Wine pairing Suggestions: Medium body, fine tannins it will be a great friend with an artisan cheese platter or some Roasted meat on the grill.
