Passion des Dames Cotes du Rhone rouge
Passion des Dames Cotes du Rhone rouge vintage is 2023.
This Domaine belongs to the Famille Meffre.
The Côtes du Rhône appellation was awarded AOC status – a classification denoting quality and authenticity – in 1937, just two years after the AOC system was set up.
The Côtes du Rhône wines are made across a swirling mosaic of different terroirs. They reflect the varying landscapes, geological make up and climate of the region as well as its grapes, vineyard management practices and favourite winemaking techniques, but there’s still a sense of unity, a ‘Côtes du Rhôneness’ about them. There’s a clear pattern, on several levels. We can start by dividing the appellation into 2 zones, north and south.
In total, 27 grape varieties are cultivated in the appellation, including Syrah, Viognier, Marsanne and Roussanne, which are native to the region.
Grape Varieties: Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre
Tasting Notes: First, the nose offers an enticing aroma of candied black fruits like cassis and blueberry, intertwined with subtle spices such as cardamom and nutmeg.
Then, on the palate, it delivers a velvety, supple, and indulgent experience, supported by delicate, finely spicy tannins. This wine promises a memorable tasting experience that is both rich and balanced, making it a standout choice for enthusiasts of Rhône wines.
Food pairing recommendations:. This powerful and intense wine will be perfect alongside a slow-cooked meat such as boeuf bourguignon or lamb stew.
