About Maison Castaing

Maison Castaing, founded in 1925 in Saint‑Sever (Landes), crafts premium goose and duck foie gras using century-old techniques. Supplied to top French tables and exported worldwide.

The story of Maison Castaing begins in Saint‑Sever, in the heart of the Landes. In 1919 Joseph Castaing, the great‑grandfather of today’s leader, raised geese on the family farm and prepared traditional goose foie gras for local sale. As demand grew, he officially founded Maison Castaing in 1925.

From the start the business aimed to market both goose and duck foie gras. Over the decades the family company expanded its expertise, valorizing every part of the raw product and specializing in the processing of foie gras and duck and goose meats.

A century later, heritage and innovation remain core values at Maison Castaing. True to the quality standards set by his ancestors, fourth‑generation Jean‑Daniel Castaing and his team of 35 artisans continue the family legacy, overseeing the meticulous production of the house foie gras.

Today Maison Castaing is a symbol of French gastronomy, supplying France’s most prestigious tables and exporting foie gras worldwide. The house inspires chefs and continues to innovate alongside them to delight the most discerning gourmets.
